I have joined another swap, actually two more swaps - a scarf swap and a mitten swap - both things that I love to knit. I'm a swap junkie. I love to knit for other people, and read their blogs and try to find out about their likes and dislikes so I can put together a swap package that they will enjoy. And, I must admit, I also love getting stuff myself. No one in my family knits, so having someone make something for me really means a lot.
This is a close-up of a scarf I have been working on for awhile. It's not a "designated for someone who is waiting for it" scarf, so I pull it out and work on it only occasionally. I adapted the pattern from a shrug in Knitty, I think it was called "convertible."

Living in New England, I wear mittens all winter. The Norwegian pair is from an old Nomis pattern book, and the red and purple pair are from "Basic Knitting." They're done in Cascade and lightly felted, which makes them warmer. I usually wear a thin pair of the el cheapo stretch gloves inside the mittens, which really keeps out the cold.
Well, that's it for this post.
